What is a Restorative Dialogue?

A Restorative Dialogue is a face-to-face mediated conversation between the crime survivor(s) and the person responsible for the harm.

A Restorative Dialogue is:

  • Initiated by the crime survivor(s)
  • Not designed to further appeals or parole
  • Focused on the emotional and mental well-being of all participants
  • May take several months of preparation before the dialogue takes place
